Event Information

The Kiwanis Wilsonville Fun Run is the premier children’s charity of the summer. Thanks to the generous support from City of Wilsonville and great community sponsors there is no entry fee for the participants of the Kids Fun Run.

Families simply register and attend the event and have a great time!

Why Have a Fun Run? 
The Fun Run is the major fundraiser for the Wilsonville Kiwanis Club. The club seeks to raise funds through sponsorships from local businesses and generous donations. We invest that money back into the kids in our community through scholarships and grants. In 2012, Kiwanis became a local champion for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides a book each month to preschool children in the Wilsonville area. Who May Run? 
The run is for youth pre-K through 8th grade (but older brothers and sisters, moms and dads, aunts and uncles and grandmas and grandpas are welcome to run with their little ones too). Heats are run by age/grade level according to the schedule below.

NOTE: Times are subject to change. While we don’t anticipate any changes, please remember to check the Fun Run website the night before the run to see any updates to the schedule.

What about kids with Special Needs? 
Special Needs runners are highly encouraged to participate. Special Needs runners may run with other kids their age or may choose to participate in the Special Needs heat or both. Just come and have fun!

What does it Cost?
Thanks to a generous grant from the City of Wilsonville and the support of our sponsors, there is no charge to register.

What do You Get?
Each runner registered by July 20th will receive a t-shirt, runner number, and a healthy snack. Later registrants will receive these items as supplies last. All 5K and Fun Run runners and walkers can visit Wilsonville Chipotle anytime on July 29th for a free lunch.

Why should I pre-register?
Those who pre-register will have the following benefits:
* Will not have to wait in the registration line at the event

Where Will the Event Be Held?
The event will be held at Wood Middle School in Wilsonville. Wood Middle School is conveniently located on Wilsonville Road just 2 miles west of I-5. Google Maps

Take the trolley to the Fun Run!

What about the Trolley? 
Thanks to the generous partnership with SMART and the City of Wilsonville, the SMART trolley will provide a free shuttle throughout the day. The trolley will run every 20 minutes starting at 8 a.m. There is no cost to ride the trolley to the Fun Run. Now that’s SMART!

What should I expect when I arrive?
If you have not pre-registered, volunteers will direct you to the Registration booth by the Wood Middle School entrance. If you are pre-registered, you will go directly to the Check-in booth. At Registration/Check-in they will give you a schedule of the heats and a runner’s number. We expect long lines at the registration booths, so please pre-register to avoid standing in line. After Registration/ Check-in you will be directed to our shirt booth where runners will pick up their shirts. Water will be available at the track.

Arrive by 8:45 AM to participate in the parade and opening ceremonies. Parade will form in the north end zone on the field.

Throughout the day, the emcee will announce the times that you will need to warm-up. Heats are run by grade. So for example, if you will go into 3rd grade in September 2017, you will run with the 3rd graders. When your heat is announced, head over to the warm up area on the football field. At the warm-up you will be greeted by volunteers to stretch and get into position for the start of your heat. The emcee will tell you when to go. Have fun and smile for the cameras! When you finish the run, our team will have you line up to receive your … medal. Spend the rest of the time enjoying the other activity booths and enjoy a healthy snack. Additionally, all 5K and Fun Run runners and walkers can visit Wilsonville Chipotle anytime on July 30th for a free lunch.

When Does the FUN RUN Start? 
Try to arrive by 8:45 AM to participate in the Opening Ceremony, which includes a grand parade by all participants. The first heat is at 10:00 AM so that parents have plenty of time to get through the registration process and not feel rushed. Please arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your heat. Be sure to leave time to play in the activity center. The last heat is at 12:15 PM.

Is there Food Available? 
Snacks will be provided starting at ll am, and all 5K and Fun Run runners and walkers can visit Wilsonville Chipotle anytime on July 29th for a free lunch.

What about Pictures? 
Danny Abrego and the crew at Portland Reign photography will take candid shots throughout the day. Note: by entering the event site you give Wilsonville Kiwanis permission to photograph you. Wilsonville Kiwanis owns all rights to any photos we take and will use many in future promotional materials.

What Other Activities Are Offered? 
Visit the Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center Wellness Pavilion, and other great activity booths, face painting, the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Fire Safety House, and much more! Families can take trolley rides from the event around town. Some lucky kids even get to ring the bell at the end of the ride!
